How to use SHA Hash Generator
- Type text, or choose a file from your device.
- Read the hash in every supported algorithm.
- Copy the digest you need with one click.
What it is for
A hash is a fixed-length fingerprint of data: change one character and the hash changes completely. Use it to verify a download, deduplicate content, or compare files without sending them anywhere.
How it works
Hashing runs through the Web Crypto API built into your browser, the same vetted implementation native apps use. Files are read locally; a hash of a 2 GB file never uploads a single byte.
