What it is for
Essays, applications, tweets, and meta descriptions all have length limits. A word counter gives you the exact numbers as you write, so you can trim or expand without leaving the page.
How it works
Words are counted by splitting on whitespace, sentences by sentence-ending punctuation, and paragraphs by blank lines. The numbers update as you type and the text never leaves your device.
