How to change a photo background

Tolerance and feather, explained
Tolerance is how far a pixel's color may stray from the sampled key and still count as background: too low leaves patchy leftovers, too high nibbles shadows and edges. Edge softness feathers the cutout over a band of similar colors so hair and soft edges blend instead of showing a hard stair-step line. The blurred-background option keeps the original scene, defocused, behind your subject.
